"I am not sure if I was sent old bars, but when I tasted this bar it was extremely TOUGH and not smooth and chewy like the brownie and salt and caramel bars I enjoy. Anyone else have this issue? It was just so tough…..like I was chewing into beef jerky"

However, a great flavor concept and a great-tasting product are two different things. I’m giving these bars 3 out of 5 stars. The churro concept is appealing, but I believe there is room for improvement in delivering a truly convincing churro experience. A flavor inspired by a classic cinnamon-sugar pastry should capture the warmth of cinnamon, the sweetness of the sugar coating, and that distinctive dessert-like taste that makes a churro so recognizable. With protein bars, flavor balance is especially important. Too much sweetness without enough cinnamon character can make a flavor feel one-dimensional. On the other hand, a well-developed cinnamon-sugar profile can create a more satisfying and recognizable experience without relying entirely on sweetness. I also think brands need to remember that consumers are buying these products for different reasons. Some want a convenient protein option, while others want something that satisfies a sweet craving without reaching for a traditional dessert. A successful dessert-inspired protein bar should aim to deliver on both fronts: the practical benefit of a protein snack and a flavor that makes the experience enjoyable. There is room for this flavor to be better, and I hope Built continues working to make its dessert-inspired bars as satisfying in taste as they are appealing in concept. A good protein bar should do more than promise a delicious flavor. It should deliver an experience that makes you want to buy it again."
